Dil Se Kaho ("we", "us") runs the website at dilsekaho.com. Under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (the "DPDP Act"), we are the Data Fiduciary for the personal data described below — meaning we decide why and how it is handled, and we are answerable for it.

| What | When | Why |
|---|---|---|
| What you write — your feeling text and mood choice | Every time you create a card | To generate your line. Stored on your own device. If you are signed in, it may also be stored against your account so your history follows you across devices. |
| Name and email | Only if you choose to sign in | To greet you, to send your one-time sign-in code, and — only if you tick the box — to send you a daily line. |
| Streak and mood history | As you use the site | To show your streak and, in future, your mood patterns. |
| Basic technical data — approximate region, browser type, pages viewed | Automatically | To keep the site running, prevent abuse, and understand roughly how many people visit. |
We process your personal data on the basis of your consent, as required by the DPDP Act. You give that consent when you choose to sign in or subscribe. Consent is specific: agreeing to sign in does not mean agreeing to marketing emails — that is a separate box you tick, and you can untick it any time from your profile.
You may withdraw consent whenever you like, as easily as you gave it, by turning off the daily line in your profile or by emailing us to close your account. Withdrawing consent does not undo anything we did lawfully before you withdrew it.
Under the DPDP Act you have the right to:
To use any of these, email hello@dilsekaho.com from the address on your account. We respond within 30 days.
If something about your data isn't right, write to our Grievance Officer. We aim to reply within 7 days and resolve within 30.

If you are not satisfied with our response, you may complain to the Data Protection Board of India.
Under the DPDP Act, anyone under 18 in India is a child. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children without verifiable consent from a parent or guardian, and we do not track children or serve them behavioural advertising.
Please note: if you are under 18, ask a parent or guardian before creating an account. You can still read and use the site without signing in. If you believe a child has created an account, email us and we will remove it.
We never sell your personal data, and we never share it for anyone else's marketing. We do rely on a small number of service providers ("Data Processors") who handle data only on our instructions:
We may disclose data if the law requires it — for example, a valid order from a court or authority.
We use your browser's local storage — not advertising cookies — to remember your streak, your chosen language and colour theme, and your mood history when you are not signed in. Clearing your browser data clears all of it. We do not use third-party advertising or tracking cookies.
We use encrypted connections (HTTPS), passwordless sign-in, and limit who can access data to what is necessary. No system is perfectly secure, but if a breach affects your data we will notify you and the Data Protection Board as the DPDP Act requires.
Our providers may process data on servers outside India. Where that happens, we rely on providers who offer appropriate safeguards and we comply with any restrictions the Government of India notifies under the DPDP Act.
Dil Se Kaho is a place to express feelings. It is not therapy, diagnosis or medical advice, and the lines we generate are not clinical guidance. If you are struggling, please speak to someone you trust or a qualified professional. If you are in danger, contact your local emergency services.
If we change how we handle your data, we will update this page and change the date at the top. If the change is significant and you have an account, we will email you.
